The Angle(s): The Kansas City Royals are playing their best ball of the season right now, and it’s not even close, but it’s only a matter of time before reality catches up, and I think the market has overreacted to their current hot streak. They are 12-28 (-36% ROI) against left-handed starters on the season, and Cleveland southpaw Foster Griffin (14-4, 3.18 ERA) has had a real breakout year. Kansas City counters with left-hander Daniel Lynch IV (4-4, 2.93 ERA). He has delivered a respectable ERA on the year, but Cleveland’s lineup profiles much better at home at Progressive Field against southpaws compared to Royals.
The moneyline might be a safer bet, but the runline payout offers much more value. It comes with more variance, but that’s my play
