The Angle(s): The Toronto Raptors look like a different team with Kawhi Leonard back in the fold. Toronto led by as many as 48 points in its opening rout of Chicago, forcing 27 turnovers, and Leonard, Scottie Barnes and Immanuel Quickley each scored 23 points without logging 30 minutes. The Raptors have also won four of the last five meetings with Washington.
The Washington Wizards opened with a double-digit win over a Milwaukee team that just traded away Giannis Antetokounmpo, and I think the market is overreacting to it. Washington trailed for most of that game, shot 6-for-28 from deep and leaned heavily on the free-throw line. Top pick AJ Dybantsa remains sidelined, and Toronto’s long, switchable defense is a far tougher test.
The Bet: Raptors -6.5 (3%).
