Mike Lundin‘s Twins vs. White Sox Free Pick
Rating: 5/10*
Start Time: April 9, 2017, 2:10 PM
The Chicago White Sox are looking good as a home favorite against the Minnesota Twins Sunday afternoon.
The White Sox hand the ball to left-hander Jose Quintana (0-1, 10.13 ERA) who was roughed up by the Tigers in his season debut, but he’s bound to bounce back with a big performance here. Note that he was 7-5 with a 2.77 ERA in 14 starts home at Guaranteed Rate Field (former U.S. Cellular Field ) last season.
The Twins turn to Ervin Santana (1-0, 1.29 ERA) who held the Royals to one run through seven innings in his first start of the season. Santana posted a 3.80 ERA in four matchups with the White Sox last season, but it could have been so much worse as he allowed 31 hits through 21 1/3 frames. The current White Sox lineup has a combined .327 batting average against the right-hander, with Jose Abreu going 5-for-10.
The White Sox won Saturday’s matchup 6-2, and this looks like a reasonable price on the home side.
