The Washington Wizards were the hottest team in the NBA for a while, but they’re heading into this matchup with the Chicago Bulls on the back of a pair of losses against Minnesota and Dallas. It’s also worth noting that they’ve covered the spread just twice through their last eight games.
They’ll host a slumping Chicago Bulls team that has lost six of its last seven games, but I like the fact that the Bulls are 17-6 ATS in their last 23 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600 while the Wizards are 2-6-1 ATS in their last nine games vs. a team with a losing straight up record.
The road team is 13-6 ATS in the last 19 head-to-head meetings and the underdog is 18-5 ATS in the last 23. The Wizards won by just two points when they hosted the Bulls on Jan 10, and I think they’re asked to cover too many points.
Yes, I know that the Bulls will have to do without Dwyane Wade who is ruled out for the season with a fractured elbow, but it’s a common trend that the rest of the squad usually raise their game in the first couple of games with a star out, and I think the Bulls will hang around to cover the spread.
