The LA Dodgers defeated the San Diego Padres 4-2 on Wednesday, their seventh win in 10 games. All but one of their last six have gone under the total, and I think we’ll see a low-scoring affair here in the finale of this four-game set.
LAD righty Ross Stripling (7-2, 2.22 ERA) fanned seven while holding the Halos to one run on three hits through six innings of work his last time out. He owns a 103/13 K/BB ratio through 89 1/3 frames on the season and struck out 10 Padres in 6 2/3 innings while conceding just an unearned run on May 25.
The Friars counter with right-hander Tyson Ross (6-7, 4.41 ERA) who has been tagged with 15 runs on 14 hits and five walks with just two strikeouts in seven innings through his last two starts. It’s worth noting though that the 31 year old owns a 3.49 ERA in 11 career games (nine starts) against the Dodgers and he owned a 3.32 ERA in 16 starts on the season before his recent struggles.
Under is 20-7-2 in Stripling’s last 29 starts overall and 35-15-2 in Ross’ last 52 starts vs. a team with a winning record. Under is 5-2 in the last 7 meetings.
Free pick on UNDER.
