**7-1-1 FREE PICKS RUN SINCE AUGUST 26**
The Chicago Cubs and the San Diego Padres combined for 17 runs in the Friars’ 10-inning triumph on Tuesday. I expect runs to be harder to come by for both sides here in the third game of their four-game series.
Cubs left-hander Cole Hamels (7-6, 3.65 ERA) has been going through a rough patch lately, but facing the Padres could be just what the doctor ordered. Hamels owns a 2.45 ERA through 18 career starts against Chicago, and he’s been particularly sharp at Petco Park where he has posted a 2.06 ERA in nine starts.
As for Padres right-hander Chris Paddack (8-7, 3.54 ERA), he has allowed just one run on nine hits and two walks with 16 strikeouts over his last two starts, covering 12 1/3 innings. Paddack will be making his first appearance against the Cubs, a situation usually favoring the pitcher.
Under is 10-3 in Hamels’ last 13 starts overall. Under is 5-2 in Padres last 7 overall.
